Three youths in their 20s have been allegedly shot dead and over 20 trucks laden with petroleum products and granites set ablaze and destroyed by angry youths at Otovwodo, in Ughelli north local government area of Delta state.
The youths had earlier barricaded the Otovwodo axis of the East/West road disrupted vehicular movement and economic activities alleging their incessant arrest by officials of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC.
This is just as a combine team of security agents have taken over the Otovwodo axis of the East/West road as when newsmen visited the scene.
According to a protester who identified himself as Johnson, “We want peace in Nigeria and they are using EFCC to disorganize and prevents the youths from voting at the 2023 general election and we will not accept it from anyone.

Another protester who gave his name as Christian said, The activities of EFCC is becoming too much, we do not have good roads, schools are on strike, even after graduating, no jobs and they are here chasing shadows.
“After which one old man will shake into position and tell us rat ran away with money, tomorrow another will enter and tell us that mosquito fly away with money, is their money missing, or is their fathers money.” he questioned.
When contacted, Delta state Police Spokesman, Edafe Bright said, “One person was shot dead, while two were injured and 15 persons have been arrested in connection with the incident.”
However, as at the time of this report, a combine team of Nigerian Army, and policemen from Ughelli Area Command were at Otovwodo were on ground to calm the situation.
Some truck drivers were seen driving their destroyed trucks with shattered windscreen from the heat of the inferno as explosion of tankers rocked the Ogor axis East/West road at about 6:pm on Tuesday.
